Best Valentine’s Day 2014 Apps for iOS & Android

Valentine’s Day can regularly be tricky to get right so for those of you who need a helping hand, we are going to look to some of the best iOS and Android apps out for 2014.

Winter of 2014 is still plodding along, but with Valentine's Day now right around the corner, old-fashioned love and romance are suddenly in the air. Thanks to the miracles of modern Smartphone technology, you might be able to do a better job than anyone in history of wooing the one you love on and before that age-old Special Day. What you need is the right apps.

Valentine Radio

With this app, you can listen to any of more than 40 hand-picked radio stations that play love songs, soft jazz, low-key pop, and other Valentine-themed music. The channels are eclectic and truly multinational, ranging in origin from Italy to Brazil and from Romania to Australia.

Be Mine (Lite) (For ios Only)

Be Mine (Lite) provides even graphics-illiterate lovers with simple, easy-to-use tools to help create, assemble, polish and deliver custom, one-of-a-kind Valentine's Day cards. It has lots of fun elements -- different shaped and colored hearts, lips, cupids, stamps, etc. -- that you can size and place, embellish with text, and electronically zip to your lover's Smartphone.

Wish Your Valentine (For Android)

Wish Your Valentine is an all-around app that can be quite helpful if you want to constantly remind your loved one that you care.  Send e-flowers with personalized messages, get tips on how to treat him or her right, generate quotes, and even have fun testing your compatibility.

Valentine's Day Special (For ios Only)

The simplest love apps offer love quotations. There are hundreds of these littering app stores, and many are awful. But I like Love Quotes from Skol Labs — on iOS and Android. It gathers inspirational phrases from the web, mainly as images with words on them. The images are split into categories like “Funny” and “Miss You,” and the phrases are as simple as “I need your hug” or as sophisticated as this F. Scott Fitzgerald quote: “There are all kinds of love in this world, but never the same love twice.”

Love Test Calculator

How much do you love your significant other? More to the point, how well do you know him or her? Take these fun-to-follow although decidedly unscientific quizzes to get a good idea of how compatible you are.

Once you've done that, you are then offered a number of dares, or challenges, to do something ultra-romantic, or silly, or brave, or just plain fun, such as blindfolding your significant other and taking her midnight bowling.  If you run out of things to say, just swipe over Tender Words and rattle off a few romantic quotes
